Art Gala

Their school is a performing arts Inter Baccalaureate (IB) school. Basically, this means that their school makes art, music, and performing arts a requirement (and priority) for each student.  Each spring the school puts on an art gala to showcase a couple of each student's art from that year.

Emily did a portrait of Rosa Parks (directly above her head).

Her snowflake:

Her 'Parts of a Plant":

Eva's class drew silouettes of themselves then filled it in with things that represent themselves. In case you can't make them out, there are kittens, dogs, macaroni and cheese, tacos, books, orange, Lindt, Gordon Ramsay, Hunger Games, cookies, bacon, Harry Potter. That pretty much sums her up, lol.

They also made suncatchers:

Afterwards, all the kids who were in Company sang a few songs from the Peter Pan show.

 Emily and her bff.

 Another one.

 I love this one.

 They do love each other.

Ballet Pictures

Normally, the ballet pictures are done so well, but this year her lighting must have been off. Emily looks like she has a spray tan in her solo pictures. The group picture has some of the girls so washed out and the others look spray tanned.

Front Seat

Last week was her first day to sit in the front seat.

What I've just realized is that the next car milestone will be driving. We're even planning on her taking David's car as her own when that time comes (in 6 years).

Sigh.

Growing Girls

The last time I measured them was July 2014, 9 months ago.  They've each grown about 3 inches in height, and I can't remember how much in weight.

Eva is now 5' 1.5" tall and about 77 pounds. She's 10 1/2. She is now tall enough to sit in the front seat (4' 9" and age 13 according to the CDC), and I let her, once.  Her height is 100th percentile, and her weight is about 49th percentile.  Skinny girl.  A height predictor says she'll be 6' 0" by age 18.  I don't think she'll be quite that tall, but pretty close.

Emily is 4' 7" tall (almost tall enough for the front seat) and 62 pounds.  She's 8.  Emily's height is also 100th percentile, and her weight is 75th percentile. The height predictor says she'll be 5' 11" by age 18. Again, I think she'll be just under that, but we'll see.  It's fun to guess.

I need to go back and see their height at age 2 then double it and compare those heights.  There's no doubt, we have a pair of tall girls.

Easter

We had a great visit in Texas for Easter, but all I have to show for it are pictures from ice skating, cologne/perfume, and an Ikea futon.

Good times.
