School Awards
Emily had her awards day yesterday, and I was able to make that one. Eva's was this morning, but since I had a meeting, David went. Oh, and Mimi was at both.
Emily got an Honor Roll award for having a GPA between 3.0 and 3.49.
Eva received an Honor Roll award for having a GPA between 3.50 and 3.99. She also received the Learner Profile award. For this award, a boy and a girl from each class are chosen by their teacher who best have each of the 10 learner profiles set forth by the International Baccalaureate program. It is an honor to be chosen for this award.
They spelled her name wrong!!

The Firebird
The Firebird has come and gone. The story was a bit blah, but Emily did great. She was one of the class leaders, which basically means she got to bow in front of her class during the curtain call at the end of the show, and she was often first on stage in her class.
The BFF.
Again, the BFF.
This was her last year in the Ballet 2 class. Next year she moves up to Ballet 3 and the Travelling Nutcracker. No, they do not travel to Houston.
Next year's production: The Frog Prince.

Thursday
Thursday was fine...until that evening.
- Emily's water opened in her backpack and leaked all over everything, including the yearbook they received at school yesterday
- Eva got hit in the the nose/forehead with a softball (it did not bounce or hit anything else before hitting her face) - a direct hit
- Came home to find Norman locked in the bathroom and cat poop on the bath mat (actually in it because he tried to cover it up)
- Phoebe decided 2 months was long enough to wait to tear into the Girl Scout cookies in boxes in the living room. She ate about 8 Peanut Butter Patties for sure. We are missing a sleeve of Thin Mints and a whole box of Peanut Butter Sandwiches, wrappers too.
Eva's face is not swollen or bruised, but it's a little red where she got hit. She had quite the bloody nose and headaches. She sat out two innings on the field, but did bat. She had a couple of hits and a great play on the field when she finally went back in. We are proud of her for coming back after the injury. The bath mat is clean now, Norman is fine. Phoebe has not gotten sick from the cookies, and I still have not found the missing cookies and their respective wrappers. She probably hid them for the next time we leave her out.
UPDATE: Phoebe did get sick. That's all I'm going to say. She is better now.

Mother-Daughter Tea
Emily and I went to her Girl Scouts Mother-Daughter Tea at the English Tea Room in Covington. The weather was terrible, many didn't show up, but we had a very nice time.
This is the only picture I have. This is Emily and her bff, Kendall, in the British phone booth outside.

Piano Recital
I filmed their pieces from the piano recital. The only one missing is Emily's first piece, Let it Go, because she struggled a bit, but kept calm, found her place and continued. They did so well, especially the duet.
Hanging Tree
Linus and Lucy
Grandmother
Spoonful of Sugar - a duet
Sleeping Beauty Waltz
Distant Drums
Emily is where Eva was a few years ago. She is starting to switch from playing notes on a page to playing a song/music. It should click for her in the next 6 months or so. Unfortunately, there is only one month of piano left before summer.
I am considering letting them learn a new instrument. Eva has been wanting to learn the violin, and Emily says she'd like to learn guitar. We'll see.

Saddle Up
Saddle Up is the theme of the last school dance of the year.
Selfie with one of her bff's.
Three bff's.
Ready to go home.
The trio.
There are only 3 weeks left of school. Three weeks until we have a 7th grader. A junior high student. We are quickly approaching high school. That's just over 2 years, people. Sigh.
