Porsche Racing

David and two other coworkers were invited to drive race cars at NOLA Motorsports last week.  The other two guys did not want to drive, so David took their tickets and got to drive a bunch.  He drives and a professional driver is in the passenger seat making sure all goes well. He can also control the car to a degree so nothing gets out of hand.

His ride: Porsche 911 GT3

Safety first!

Afterwards, David called me and the first words out of his mouth were, "Oh. My. God."  The first thing I told him he was that he was not allowed to quit his job and become a professional racer.

Grand Isle

The trip was very nice, with one exception, but we won't go into that. Another family came to stay for 2 nights (supposed to be one night) and let's just say the guy made an ass of himself and won't be back.

We had sunsets like these each night.

 The whole crew.

 The whole crew again.

 A baby came to visit.

 The younger crew.

 The younger crew again.

The older crew (plus a visitor).

The whole crew again plus a visitor.

 Silly faces.

 On the boat.

 Digging holes at the beach.

 Emily and Kylie digging holes.

While we were away in Grand Isle, we sent Phoebe off to spend time with a lady who has a pet sitting service in her home, literally in her home with her family.  She doesn't have any of her own dogs any longer; she just watches other people's dogs. If the dogs are friendly, they get to hang out together. Of course, Phoebe is super friendly, so she had a great time playing with dogs for 4.5 days. This is what she did from about 2:00 when we got home until bedtime where she slept some more:

That was one pooped puppy. The lady said Phoebe slept on the bed with her son at night.  Figures.
