Camp Abbey

The much anticipated Camp Abbey date finally arrived yesterday. They were all so excited!

I can't wait to hear about all of the memories they are making this week. It did finally hit me during the night that I will not speak to them again until Saturday morning. Sniff.

More Colorado

Here are a few more pictures from Colorado. Unfortunately, we can't get the pictures Eva took on the camera. I'm still working on it. She had some really good ones.

Riding over to Dairy Queen

Blizzard time.

Lunch after white-water rafting.

They are ready to white-water raft again. I have that on our list of things to do in November when we all go back.

Canoeing

We went canoeing with some friends Sunday on the Wolf River in Mississippi. The mouth is not far from Bay St. Louis. It was a great day. The weather was perfect, the water was slow moving, and we all had a great time. Eva and Emily are still in Colorado, so David and I were flying solo, which was kind of nice - no kids to watch out for (at least kids of our own).  Our friend's brought their kids, and they were in their own canoe.

Kids canoe out front.

We had such a good time, we are planning an overnight trip for the fall on the same river. On the night of a full moon, they will do a moonlight float.

David and I are going to plan a five-day float trip along the Buffalo River in Missouri for spring break 2018. Hopefully we'll have friends and/or family who will come with us.

 Swimming with cousins.

Waiting for their first plane ride.

Waiting for take off.

Waiting for take off - looks a little nerv-cited.

 Snow!

Lots of snow and 41 degrees up there!

Today is their 4th day in Colorado. They leave Rocky Mountain National Park today for Ft. Collins.  I'll post more pictures as I get them. Eva has been taking pictures, but she needs WiFi to send.

Fixed!

It's corrected!

School Awards

Emily had her awards day yesterday, and I was able to make that one. Eva's was this morning, but since I had a meeting, David went.  Oh, and Mimi was at both.

Emily got an Honor Roll award for having a GPA between 3.0 and 3.49.

Eva received an Honor Roll award for having a GPA between 3.50 and 3.99.  She also received the Learner Profile award. For this award, a boy and a girl from each class are chosen by their teacher who best have each of the 10 learner profiles set forth by the International Baccalaureate program. It is an honor to be chosen for this award.

 They spelled her name wrong!!

The Firebird

The Firebird has come and gone. The story was a bit blah, but Emily did great. She was one of the class leaders, which basically means she got to bow in front of her class during the curtain call at the end of the show, and she was often first on stage in her class.

 The BFF.

Again, the BFF.

This was her last year in the Ballet 2 class. Next year she moves up to Ballet 3 and the Travelling Nutcracker. No, they do not travel to Houston.

Next year's production:  The Frog Prince.
